TECH4GOOD, THE NEW VIVATECH UNICORN? (IF WE BELIEVE THEIR OWN WEBSITE...)

Viva Technology, Europe's biggest startup and tech event is starting today in Paris. This year, one of the five major highlights of the event will be Tech4Good, which aims to demonstrate the many ways tech can ignite positive change, with special focuses on digital inclusion, climate action, data democracy, and gender parity.
Partnering with NGOs and not-for-profit organizations in order to address the most pressing global challenges, VivaTech has developed an ambitious program tracks dedicated to Tech for the Environment, Tech for Society, Future of Work and Democracy & Ethics.

Unfortunately for them, the link inviting their online audience to discover all these inspiring thematics tracks seems to be deficient as it is currently ending up on a page indicating that ‘‘like a unicorn, it does not exist’’.

Beyond the fact that this kind of bug is always quite surprising when it happens within such a Tech shrine, it is hard to not see within this incident (and within the even most disturbing fact that nobody corrected or reported it before) a symptom of the “goodwashing” trend spreading over Tech after the numerous attacks this industry received (last week for example, you might have seen the new Mount Recyclemore masterpiece by Sculptor Joe Rush, made from electronic waste in Cornwall ahead of the G7 Summit).

At KINDNESSforBusiness, we advocate for real change in the way we manage businesses. Therefore we can’t wait to finally discover VivaTech’s thematic tracks in a more detailed way and to see them become a reality.
